I am looking for someone to help sponsor me for Dick Smith's Make-Up course to do special effects make-up. The tuition is $2000 and I was wondering if anyone knows a company willing to do a whole or partial sponsorship in exchange for work?

Or if anyone has any other ideas, I would be eager to listen.

see thats the thing about Arizona. Everyone says Phoenix is the next Hollywood, but I have yet to see any results.

It's important to remember that these things take time, and Hollywood did not become the Mecca it is now overnight.

I personally feel that the industry here is out of its infancy and toddler phase, but in order for it to grow to its full potential and become more than it is now, we must nuture it, feed it, guide it.

Phoenix may or may not be the next Hollywood-time will only tell. One thing is for certain, however, and that is it will only happen with the support of folks like you and me. Please don't get discouraged.

Next Hollywood? We already have them. Hong Kong and Mumbai. Their status is not new, either.

If you mean within the US, Hollywood is far too entrenched to simply 'go away.' Also, 'independent' film production, which is essentially everything significant outside of Hollywood, is totally decentralized.

No Kubota, by definition you can never already have a "next" anything.

Back on topic, I do hear a lot about Arizona. It was featured heavily in one of the film magazines recently.

yeah, it has a lot to do with the year round weather. Its a 4 season deal. Plus the wide rang of encironments. We got deserts, forests, mountains, lakes, etc.

As far as an effective film force here, though: we got nothin.
