Just out of interest, my company is soon to purchase a Panasonic DVX100b for our general use, including matte box, top light, wide angle lens, tripod etc (basically the full kit for filming incl. audio devices). We realise just how hard it is for students to rent such prosumer cameras and to this affect we would like to offer UK film students the chance to hire out our kit for a considerable discount.

Our prices may change depending upon how much interest and positive feedback we receive from you guys so don't hesitate in contacting us.

Basic rates would be as follows:-

1 x Day- £70 incl. VAT
2 x Days- £110 incl. VAT
1 x Week- £300 incl. VAT
1 x Month- £750 incl. VAT

There will likely be a needed deposit in the region of £400 but even this may be up for review?!

If you are part of a film school that you feel would also benefit from this cheap rate of hire then please ask them to get in touch as our prices would again lower for educational faculties.

Hi Dan,

Taking a look at your rates they are quite in-line with industry rates for renting DVX's (A bit lower).

My only suggestion is perhaps lowering the initial deposit and if need be raise the daily rates to make up for that.

From what I've seen the average deposit is in the area of 15% to 30% of the value of the camera with the average being at least 20%. So like £300.

Thank you most sincerely for your feedback. I actually agree now that perhaps our deposit may be too high for the market we are aiming at?.

We shall re-calculate our rates and do a great deal more research into this area over the next few days.

Although remember that our aforementioned prices were inclusive of the DVX100b as well as 2 x lens, Matte box, top light, boom, mic, portable DAT, tripods, hard cases etc.

Hopefully there are still no existing companies out there that could beat our potential price given the 'extras' we are chosing to include?!

I think you should offer packages that don't include the extras to lower the prices, because a lot of us student filmmakers often cut corners to save what little budget we have on a movie. And I just *know* that we can get away with not having the matte box...

Wow DTSATO thats a SUPERB! Deal with all of those extras, however you may want to consider having an option to just rent the Camera and the basic camera batters/charger/lens.

Other then that superb deal.
