This is Jennfer Batten. I played guitar for Michael Jackson for 10 years and Jeff Beck for 3.

I'm hosting a film contest for videos for all of the songs for my 3rd CD coming out next year on Steve Vai's Favored Nations record label (www.favorednations.com).

I’ve gotten a few films back already that are fantastic!
 
They will be used for two purposes:
1) To have as part of a multi media live show I'm planning to tour with. (I'll be playing solo guitar synched to video/audio backing tracks).
2) to have for sale in DVD form along with some interview footage of me (as well as self filmed interviews with the filmographers)
I'd like each filmographer to film an interview type monologue of a brief history of their interest in film, plans for their future, as well as any thoughts related to the film they did for the song they worked on. I want the viewers to get a feel for the personality behind the film that was created.
This will be included in the DVD for sale. Their contact information and or web site can be included as well. I'll pay $100 to the winning videos of each track and profits of the DVD sales would be split amongst the filmakers, myself and the record label
 
I want these films to be as CREATIVE AND ARTFULL as possible with very little guidance from me. I'm not looking for a sea sick MTV style with a million cuts. I'm also not looking for footage with me in it. I'm looking for creativity first and formost which would be guided mostly from listening to the track. I want these visuals to enhance the audio experience.
They can shoot regular film footage or use computer animation or a combination.
 
All film used must be copywrite free or original.

How legit is this?

Well, she was certainly the guitarist for Michael Jackson and Beck for quite some time. I plan to enter... this looks pretty cool.
