hey dude I cant help you out but im sure if you look for a used panasonic pvgs-120 (the cheapest 3 chip you can get) on ebay or something. I know this probably dont help but its a start.

Yeah, most decent 3 CCD cams are in the 1000 range, but check ebay for some used ones.

I did search around to find some very very good deals on supposedly new XL2s and GL2s. Theyre through legit places like ebay and amazon.com, which carry guarantees, but theyre from people selling it online. Before I blow 500-1000 dollars on one of these "new" XL2s, anyone want to give some insight? Has anyone ever bought these "great deals" and did it turn out fine?

If you can get it cheaper than ebay chances are its junk.

Ive found it being sold on Amazon.com for cheaper than Ebay (technically, since EBAY constantly changes because of the bidding). Everytime I email these people and ask them why theyre selling it for so cheap, they respond that they work for a European country and get the cameras for cheap. Not only that, they never want to pay through Amazon, only Western Union. What do you think the take is? Sounds ultra fishy to me, even though both have really good selling histories on the site...

I have had experience with this. Im pretty sure those people are seeling a counterfeit product.

The guy is full of **** anyway, he tried to have me wire it to him using western union and said the shipping was $300, so I told him to **** off. Crazy *******.

-sigh- I wish there was a safe plae where people sold old GOOD cameras for cheap.

i had a friend who sent $1000 bux to a similar deal as you describe there. Western Union, European Country, etc. He never recieved the camera, lost the money, but he got a story to tell, although he probobly doesn't. So in short don't buy from those guys. If their bid history has a bunch of other expensive type items all with good feedback, you might consider it but even then, Ebay/Amazon marketplace scares me. For instance This guy on ebay claims to be a poor college student who has to sell the camera he jsut bought. But he's already "sold" 1 GL1, with the same set of pictures, to a guy who left him the most amazing feedback ever to be left. Most likely not a reputable guy.

Seriously, EBay and amazon have to be the shiftiest places ever. You'd think someone who realize how unsafe it is and shut it down. Doesn't Ebay/amazon realize "Oh ****, everyone is getting scammed. Pf, oh well!"
