I am planing on aplying to NYU's MFA program for the 2010 period. I have allways been atracted to the film industry an have been involved in It from the very first day I got to NY. My experience is not as hands on as I'd like it to be, I have worked mainly as a PA and in Post Production in major feature films. It is a good way to build contacts but it limits you to menial tasks and alienates you from the creative process, the real deal. The best advise I've got from big hot shots is: "Do your own Sh**, that's the way yo'll make it" But for this i need the propper instruction and besides NYU is a great contact school. Is there any one that could hint nme on how to build a creative portfolio? what should I add to it and what should I beware of while building It. I want to cause a great impression but so far I have nothing to show besides written content of my own.
Thank you for your advice
