I was thinking about famous people attending various film schools, and was wondering what people thought about that?

I used to get really upset knowing that there were extremely well off people with incredible connections taking up space from some poor, talented but not-so famous kids.

However, I've changed my opinion. I think it's a great idea to have these folks in the mix.

Also, for those at schools already, who are some of the famous folks CURRENTLY in your program? I'm not talking about famous people that attend the school, but very specifically about the Film School.

What do you mean by famous?

let's keep the definition of "famous" simple. Anyone you personally think is famous. That is, use your own definition of fame.

I dont think I've ever heard of someone "famous" going to film school. I think you might have to provide an example.

What's the point of this exactly? Are these so-called famous people or offspring thereof asking to be outed?

I don't see the benefit of naming celebrities in cinema programs.

And not just because I can't think of any at USC.

It doesn't matter. They're just people, going to school.

I heard James Franco will be attending Columbia next year, but he is doing his MFA in Writing, not Film. Here's the link I found:

That's the closest thing I can think of. I've heard about some film stars going back to school, though I've never heard of any of them doing Film programs.
