I was just wondering what everyone thought about going to film school after I get my business degree. I just want to know if I'm wasting my time, or if it is at all a good idea. I was also wondering if I did go, would I go to Grad school or earn anohter (different) BFA in film, I'm not to sure of the dirrerence? Any suggestions on school's?
Thanks.

well are you in business right now? getting a business degree before getting a film degree is a fine idea, though i don't understand why you would do that. unless you plan to use your business degree to your advantage in your filmmaking...maybe you want to be a producer?...in any case i dont reccomend getting a BFA in film after you get your business degree, go for the MFA. MFA programs are a bit better than BFA programs in my opinion, plus it opens up the teaching option...but it is a perfectly legit path for you to take if you get a business degree and then a MFA in film.

That's a good idea if you plan on being a producer. It's also a good backup for people who can't get into a bfa program. Usually they end up getting an other degree such as a communications (which would be more relevant) then going for their MFA. MFA programs for film are even harder to get into unless you have a good resume and grades. If you plan on being a professor a MFA is needed but other then that it is sorta pointless if you intend on jumping head first into the industry. All the major film guys do not have mfas some of them didn't make it past Community College. The producers on the other hand if they weren't already famous got so by having fancy degrees and knowing people.

It's whatever you feel is right.
