Just curious about applicants' majors, any films they've made, any work experience, etc. I'll go first.
I'm an Economics and Finance double major graduating next month.
I have no professional work experience
I've made two shorts and one feature, acting as writer/director/producer/cinematographer/editor.
I still don't know where/if I'm going to school.

I was an mech. engineering major for 2 1/2 years, but after Hurricane Katrina, I switched over to Digital Media Production/Theater with a minor in engineering. I didn't even pick up a camera until two years ago.

I've only worked with video.

Since then, I've made 6-7 shorts as writer/director/editor and music composer in two of the videos, worked on a few collaborative projects, worked at a TV station as a freelance editor/graphics artist/camera operator. I work on campus, sometimes filming campus events for a fee.

Most of this stuff is done on the side since Tulane doesn't have a real film program and I usually use theater students as actors and crew.

me? i started in film by being forced to sit around my uncle's feature film sets at the age of 8. i spent my summers just hanging around productions because i had to.

then at 12, a relative was getting married and i got to touch a s-vhs to shoot a wedding.

since then i have dabbled a lot in claymation because i couldnt really find people to act in my movies and i didnt want to embarrass them if it was bad. 5-10 claymations

at 14, i got serious and wrote my first serious film "a silent night." it was produced when i turned 16 in ho chi minh city, vietnam.

for a while i shot some freelance wedding videos.

i followed up "a silent night" with "the manicurist" this past summer.

cant say i am very experienced but i do read a lot about the business and know about the technical side somewhat.

after getting rejected from my school of choice as a senior in high school i became a biology major and following that misery i got back to mass communications and am back in the business hopefully in grad school

Dont really have a lot of film experience but I've done a fair amount of acting. Aside from that there were times in high school where I did TV production but they were really corny and cheesy. That was my first experience with editing though. For undergrad i studied mech. eng. and dabbled in b&w/color photography. From that I learned more about composition, lighting, and color filters. Not quite like film. Then my junior year I had an awakening moment and decided to get myself a camcorder, the kind family films are made on, and started writing scripts to shoot. I took intro and advanced computer animation at school. So I have some Maya skills under my belt.

Haven't really done much else.
