I'm applying to various grad programs, including NYU. They ask for a synopsis for a four minute silent film. Any advice for books that will help me do this. I'm coming down to the wire and have no clue.

the 4 minute silent film is exactly what the first film is in the first year NYU program.

I wouldn't worry too much about format, just write a good visual story with interesting characters.
