Hey guys,

By now most of us have some idea of where we will be going next year. I thought it'd be interesting if we started a thread where people shared what they liked/disliked about the program they've selected or are leaning towards. It may also be helpful for future students who are trying to figure out what schools they will be going to.

I'll start us off:

School: Northwestern University (School of Communications)

Department: Radio/Television/Film

Degree: MFA in Screenwriting

Pros:
- Evanston! A nice suburb of Chicago.
- It's a new program, so I think they'll be more enthusiastic about promoting their students to build up their prestige.
- One quarter of guaranteed assistantship with stipend + free tuition.
- $5000 to produce your own film.
- Big name alumni like David Schwimmer, Stephen Colbert, and Zach Braff.
- Accepts only 12 students a year (six screenwriters/six playwrites)so I should get a lot of individual attention.
- Available graduate housing.
- University environment. I love college and am no rush to leave it.
- Diverse student body.
- Accomplished faculty.
- D1 sports/Professional teams in all the major sports.

Cons:
- Really cold weather.
- Young program.
