I'm just beginning my research into film schools. Here in the UK, as I understand it, we only really have one GOOD school - The National Film and Television School in London - and so I am preparing myself to apply and study overseas.
It seems I have missed most of the deadlines for a fall 2008 start, so I now have a good year to research and strategise, and hone my application.
I am aware of the so-called 'big five' schools, of the entry requirements, etc, but would love to hear some advice/information/thoughts from people in the US, as well as from anybody else in my position, if there is anyone?
Cheers
David

I´m not from the states but from Copenhagen, DK...but I also really want to go to a good film school, I just applied to Tisch NY. As I understand it the The National Film and Television School in London is quite good? The big five schools you are talking about are... Tisch NY, UCLA, AFI and ?

I'm going to apply to the NFTS before the June (I think it's anyway June) deadline, then American schools before November/December if I don't get in.
I'd like to learn about schools other than the 'big five', but, from abroad, it's hard to get a sense of where is genuinely good and where isn't. From living and studying in the UK I'd say I've got a good sense of what the good universities/courses are here... I hear Chapman banded around this site as a good school... I was very interested in SFSU until I saw the (dire) student films on their website.
