I've been offered a pretty handsome Merit award at American and was wondering if there are any current or former students who graduated from the MFA program who would like to offer some opinions.

So...I'm open to any and all input.

Based on what I've read from Film School Confidential, the program is fantastic for people "who know what they want and are self-directed." The book goes on to say that internships are first rate and that the school is very well connected to the media community in Washington. American University is especially ideal for those who want to make socially conscious films on current affairs.
