Hi!
I was just wondering if anybody here can give me some inside info on Columbia. I'm particularly interested in people currently in the MFA program. How are the classes? Do you like it? have any regrets (hopefully not)?
I'm applying for fall admission for next year (Fall 2008). Thanks!

Which Columbia are you referencing?
There is one in Chicago and one in NYC.

Hi there,

I'm a first year in the Columbia MFA program and I can say the program is absolutely incredible. I couldn't be happier with my choice.

Hi!
That's great to hear... I had a hunch that it would be a really good program

Hey BillyD

When you applied to Columbia, did you write a more formal sounding essay, or one that was more personal/conversational?

Also I was wondering if you sent in examples of your film work.

I'm just curious.

I'm applying as well, so I'm curious to hear how you are finding it too, Billy D. Also: If you could share any insider tips on the one-page treatment that would be great. I've done treatments before, never one-pagers, and I'm wondering if there is an industry format for this one that I don't know about.

Any help is much appreciated.

All the best,

Leah

Hi Billy,

I just realized that you already answered my question in the other thread. Thanks! Glad to hear you are liking it. It looks like a phenomenal program.

What stream are you hoping to specialize in?

Just got my application out yesterday, after slaving and worrying and fretting over it for a few millenia. Fingers crossed.

For the record, I included a sample of video projects I have worked on in the past (largely in class projects.)

I'm sending out my app either tonight or tomorrow. I'm also sending in a dvd of work (about 24 min) along with the requisite material. Best of luck to all.

yeah I think i'm going to send a short (15 min) video of two films I did. Actually, I might just submit one film. I have a couple hours to decide lol

Hi, I have been lingering on the website for a while...

I just had a question, does anyone know about what time Columbia begins to start calling people for interviews? Like what is the earliest time? I submitted my application early and I am getting so anxious!!! Smile

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm guessing that everyone is on vacation so you couldn't answer my question? Smile

I'm just wondering when does Columbia begin contacting people for interviews? Thanks!
