hey, i don't have a film to submit, but some quick advice. Check with your local Pub. access stations to find out requirements and timeslots before you start complilng your show. A friend and I developed a studentfilms show for public access about a year ago. IT took forever to put together and most of the films were from this site. Upon submitting to 4 local stations we found that all of them required either UMATIC or BETA versions of the show. So we had to buy the tapes and find a way to transfer the dv to those formats. Then all 4 stations wouldnt air the show due to A) copywritten music, B) "questionable material" (a character in one film mentioned cocaine, didnt use it, mentioned it). C) bleeped swear words that weren't bleeped enough (S*** was not acceptable) We finally got one station to put it on, but only at 2 in the morning. So, it can be a big hassle if youre not totally by their guidlines. Maybe your local guys will be better, or you know someone who works there, jsut passing along my experience.
