I just registered for this site, finally! My name is Daniel Bury (Danny for short) and I am a sophomore at Thunderbird High School in Phoenix, Arizona.
I just thought I would introduce myself. I have a film on here called "Clown Around" that I filmed on a cruise ship (I don't recommend it, most stressful thing that I've ever done), check it out and tell me what you think!
Also, in a few days my next film will go on this site, called "Monkey See, Monkey Do", an anti-smoking PSA that I made for a statewide contest.

haha, when I filmed it on the cruise ship I got a lot of weird looks from people, especially when I filmed the clown stuck to my uncle's behind. They cruise employees were mostly cooperative though, except when I had to resort to secretly taking a basketball from the gym because the guy wouldn't let me borrow it.
I had never really made a movie like this before, only book projects for English class and stuff, so nobody at all took me seriously. But for this one I had a vision and had storyboarded everything ahead of time and had it exactly matched to the music in my head. Whenever I played any of those songs before filming, the movie would play through in my mind almost exactly how it turned out.
Overall though, the main challenge wasn't people telling me that I couldn't film, but that I had to convince my family that I was actually making a real movie. They would have much rather just taken advantage of the buffet all day (which I wrote into the movie several times for this reason) Thanks to them for giving up the 2 days of sea that we had to film this with me!
Haha... a lot of people complain about not being taken seriously. I'd tackled a whole bunch of nutty projects before I started my first film. So people knew better then to doubt me (openly, at least!) - but once you've done one they're suddenly VERY interested in the next one.
It's good that the scene plays out in your head, having a 'vision' of it is very important.
