I thought I'd begin with the obligatory introduction post.
The name, at least on the web, is Grimm. I'm something of a movie junkie who has penned far too many scripts and who is now interesting in learning to get them off the paper and on to the screen. I've got a lot to learn in that regard, as most of what I've shot before are wedding videos for a little side business I operate. I've got one short film to my credit, but it was pretty terrible. And it was blissfully destroyed in an unfortunate moving accident.
Going forward, I'm here to absorb as much as I can about the entire process of film making. My biggest weakness is the technical side of things: specifically cinematography. I can plan out a scene to perfection, but ask me to adjust the million settings on the camera to get the best quality image, and we've got problems.
I'm hoping to acquire the AG-DVX100 (original, a, b, whatever) by my first shoot this fall as I am currently using Panasonic's PV-GS250 which is a spiffy little 3 chipper but can't shoot in low light for anything. Plus the 24p is always tantalizing. Of course I'm also aware that you need to know your way around a camera to effectively use 24p and the other features this beauty comes with. Hence my presence here.

The said "first shoot" is a handful of scenes from a full length screenplay I've written. I don't have the budget to do the entire thing so I'm going to film a dozen scenes or so and produce a trailer. Which means as the time draws near I'll probably be looking for some help in the editing and music departments.
I do bring to the table a talent for writing. My work is extremely visual - it's very easy to read one of my scripts and get a clear idea of what's happening. So any help in that regard, I am certainly glad to offer. Not much, but it's a start.
Anyways, that's my long-winded intro. Until next time...
