Hello, all. I've been posting here for a couple of weeks, but I have yet to introduce myself. That I will do now.

My name is Harris Porter. I'm a student (of journalism, not film) at Auburn University, wherever the hell that is. I'm a partner in the group Dam Dirty Apes; we make lots of movies and some other stuff, too, and we had a local TV show on the gulf coast of AL for awhile, the reruns of which still air on occasion. There are currently three of us, myself, Aaron Diaz, and Kevin Olsen, and we may be on the prowl for a fourth member. If you'd like to feign interest, you can find out more about us here: http://www.damdirtyapes.com/

We've also just had a film of ours introduced on this site, which is why I thought it proper to introduce myself. The film is here:
http://www.studentfilms.com/film/get.do?id=913
It's called The Legend of Monkey Fight. We wrote, shot, and edited the entire thing during Christmas break 2004; and since the film is set in China, and only one of the three of us (Kevin) is remotely Asian-looking, we had him play two parts. I like the film, personally; I hope others will, too.

I've enjoyed reading and posting here, and I anticipate many fruitful discussions in the future. Thanks for the great website, and thanks for your interest. If anyone ever feels the need to contact me about anything, please email me: harris@damdirtyapes.com or get in touch with me through the site.

Thanks again.

Woo! Go Tigers! That's all I have to say... I'd almost certainly be heading to Auburn if they had a film program... but lo and behold they do not.

There's always someone out there cooler than you.

Just saw your film and thought it was great. I usually don't sit through all of the shorts that are over 10 minutes, but watched all of yours. I submitted a review, but just thought I'd mention how much I liked it.

I had no idea Lost Springs was on this site. I've watched that before, elsewhere; I sent you an email about it.

I appreciate your compliments and your review of The Legend of Monkey Fight. This is the only real exposure the film has gotten thus far. We premiered it in a theater a few months ago, and everyone seemed to enjoy it. I personally knew about half the people who attended, however, so I'm looking forward to getting feedback from total strangers.

Thanks again, everyone.

Wow, we've gotten a much bigger response than I'd anticipated. I'm Aaron, by the way, one of the other Dam Dirty Apes.

Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to tell Mr. Particleman that "Lost Springs" thoroughly rocked my socks off. So poetic... Any praise coming from you, good sir, is noteworthy praise indeed!

Thanks again, Jacob. And, by the way, I watched the "making of" featurette of Lost Springs. Very, very impressive stuff. And such a great idea.

Harris, you never cease to amaze. 'Cept that one time, with the bonfire...well, I think we both know what went on there.

Pass my compliments to Aaron on Dresden Kodak. that sh*ts hilarious.
