I am trying to put together a local access TV Show called Zero Budget Showcase. This Show will be a service to no budget filmmakers everywhere. Zero Budget Showcase is a submission based show. The show will also highlight the Zero Budget lifestyle with filmmaker profiles. If you have a film that you would like to air, send me an email at deeznutz9877@yahoo.com.

hey, i don't have a film to submit, but some quick advice. Check with your local Pub. access stations to find out requirements and timeslots before you start complilng your show. A friend and I developed a studentfilms show for public access about a year ago. IT took forever to put together and most of the films were from this site. Upon submitting to 4 local stations we found that all of them required either UMATIC or BETA versions of the show. So we had to buy the tapes and find a way to transfer the dv to those formats. Then all 4 stations wouldnt air the show due to A) copywritten music, B) "questionable material" (a character in one film mentioned cocaine, didnt use it, mentioned it). C) bleeped swear words that weren't bleeped enough (S*** was not acceptable) We finally got one station to put it on, but only at 2 in the morning. So, it can be a big hassle if youre not totally by their guidlines. Maybe your local guys will be better, or you know someone who works there, jsut passing along my experience.

Thanks for the tip Particleman. I had the same worries and I called the station to get some guidlines. But the guy who runs it wouldn't give me any exact answers to what language was aceptable ect.. So I'm praying that no matter what I give them they will put it on. 2am is ok with me for now.
