A little about me: I'm a
composer living in San Diego. I've had my works performed throughout the
country, and this month one of my works will be played in Finland. I have
experience collaborating with directors and playwrights for dramatic music,
incidental music, and opera. I have a Master's degree in composition from
the Peabody Conservatory, and right now I'm working on a PhD at UCSD,
studying with music technology innovator Miller Puckette and Pulitzer Prize
winning composer Roger Reynolds. I've also extensively studied classical
guitar performance and have performed solo, small ensemble, and concerto
works with orchestra. You can read more about me at
http://crca.ucsd.edu/~jsarlo/. I mainly focus on avant-guard electronic
works, but I have written for solo instrumental, chamber, and orchestral
ensembles. I've even been known to play in a rock band or two.
