Hi,

I'm sure once I get used to this program, i'll be able to work things out but ...

my problem is that it's completely alien to what i'm used to with Premiere 6.

Does anyone know of any good URL's or (preferably) cheap books that can help me learn?

Richard.

Avid sells some self paced training manuals on their site:

http://www.avid.com/training/selfpace/index.html

The books should be pretty good if they are written by the same people who write the Avid books for the "real" Avid classes.

I am an Avid Certified Instructor out here in LA so if you have any questions feel free to ask. Of course I probably cannot teach you how to use Xpress via the message boads or e-mail...but if you have specific questions I could definitely answer them.

There are also many good books on Media Composer (Xpress is practically the same with some differences here and there) which would be fine as well. The book "Avid Editing, A Guide for Beginning and Intermediate Users" by Sam Kauffmann is supposedly pretty good.

Unfortunately I do not know of any free websites.

Hope this helps.

You can get them from Amazon.com or from Avid.com.
