Ok I have this video I made for a non-profit and the external Hard drive I stored it on went kablooey after an OS upgrade. Drive no longer mounts on any system! i have it in the shop now for a data recovery, but things don't look good.

In the mean time I have a single DVD of the final disc but i want to reauthor the dvd itself. I can access the .vob's and such but cannot seem to get any audio. I have FCP Studio, DVD Studio PRO, Quicktime Pro and Peak express but nothing seems to be working! Does anyone have a procedure that could pull the video off the dvd!

Look for a program called DVDxDV which can rip your DV movie off of a DVD. It's about $30, and only works on home-made DVDs.

There are "alternate" ways of getting that program.

But all is well thanks to TD (technical Director?) I downloaded the demo version ofDVDxdv and was able to pull the audio. I placed the VOB video into FCP with the ripped aiff and I'm back in business!
