I've always wanted to put this effects... which is DV make it look like old Super 8mm footages.. now days I see more and more from every where... I've tried with color correction, speed change, cutting out some frames... and more and more...etc.. but it all came down to rendering time...

Is there any most effective way to do it?? without take 10hrs to render for only a few min footages???

Please let me know...
thanks

Oh.. by the way I use Final Cut Pro 3.0 and After effect 5.0(but I don't use it much..yet)

I don't know what to say about render times (there's no getting around them), but I'd resize the image so it has a black border (about 75% scale), desaturate, deinterlace, add a slight blur, add grain, increase the contrast, do a 2 frame strobe (to get to 15 FPS), and possibly even a flicker. Then, if you really want, add those ugly stupid film scratches that everyone loves so much.

But that's what I think super8 (Tri-X) should look like. You may have a different look you're going for.

I knew a Jun Son that lives near Montclair and went to Chico State.

what i've tried and it kinda looks like super 8 is when you open up fcp on your viewer you go down to the A onthe lower right hand corner, you go to render then you choose noise. After that you make a freeze frame of the noise and you lay it over your video, then you reduce the opacity of your video on track 1. I think it gives it that super8 look.
