after i was done capturing my last dv tape the program just shut down, and now it won't open...

it starts to (bounces in the dock) then it just stops. i've been googling this and trying to trouble shoot, but i'm at wits end.

you may have turned Airport on which would not allow you to open final cut pro. or perhaps you didn't set the scratch discs.

Did you try restarting your computer? Something must have changed... Try to think if you did anything that may have affected it.

Try deleting your FCP preferences. That should do it. Maybe re-installing the program? That shouldn't be necessary though.

If you can get that far, the program IS opening, no? Smile

I mean, search for the preferences file on your computer. You may need to google 'deleting FCP preferences' or something like that. This will reset all your settings, and hopefully fix whatever ails it.

Just for future reference, this is not true.

Unless what he's talking about is that the same FCP software is installed somewhere else on the network and it detects the same serial # which means that you're running pirated software (or at least purchased software running on multiple systems which still is pirating it)

Please buy a copy of the software for each system you're using.

BUT - to fix the problem. Delete preferences and if that doesn't work reinstall.

You can also try to repair your permissions using the disk utility.
