So I got this baby, and I almost wet myself everytime I look at it next to the G5.

But, there is something still pissing me off. I am running a dual monitor setup, with a really old Dell Trinitron 17" monitor back when 500mhz was a fast machine.

When it comes to displaying white, which is most of the things i work with on a daily basis, such as word or safari, the Dell simply has a much brighter white that makes the apple display look like a murky beige. Right now I have a blank white page document opened on half of each screen, and the Dell Trinitron is simply outperforming on the white.

i have been tweaking with the minimal settings on the apple display, but not getting close to the white hue of the old 17" dell monitor.

What is up with this? Is this just a result of my recent addiction to crack? Or are these apple displays suppose to give a dirty white, or get outperformed my monitors that cost roughly $1,700 less than them.

What can I do to change this.

You can modify it in System Prefs. Try that because it really shouldn't do that. The 23" that I edit with at work is nearly flawless.

If you think your monitor problem is bad, wait until you realize you just told everyone that you're a crackhead who's going to piss himself when he fixes his monitor problem...Wink
