I randomly searched "Cheap After Effects" and this is one of the sites that came up. I'm not sure if it's reliable, due to the $970 price cut.

Yeah...sounds kinda sketchy. You can't sell software that cheap...there just isn't any way.


Also After Effects 6.5 has never been an $1000 program, its only a $400-$500 dollar program. So you can already tell that they are deceiving you. If you are a student you can get CS3 for a couple hundred dollars legitimately...this can include After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop CS3, Flash CS3, etc...

Of course, that is After Effectts 6.5 - which is many years old. That might explain it. But if I were you, I'd do what braininabox says and just go for the CS3 academic package. That's a great program bundle for relatively dirt cheap.
