More questions...listen up editors and film makers alike!!
I was wondering if anyone had any "bright" ideas as to how to lighten up my night shots...there really is only two shots that I didn't light well enough and I can't get a good boast without the picture looking like hell. I was thinking about re-shooting the shots until I got my car stolen the other day, which is in the movie.
Oh...and I'm editing on Final Cut by the way. Thanks for your feedback

I haven't worked with lighting stuff up in post much, but try increasing the brightness a good bit and messing with the contrast so it still feels natural. Fool with it, you wont get it right the first time, keep ajudsting till it looks good.

If you're using FCP3 (or higher), you might want to play around with color correction to see what you can do to improve your shots. You might be able to make changes to the saturation of certain colors to make them come out a little better. However, if these shots have come out too dark you could be in trouble. Try the color correction method and hopefully you can get what you're looking for.

My advice is to shoot the scene so its just a little too bright then what you want. I think it is much easier to make a scene look naturally darker in POST then to try and make it naturally lighter.
use the 3-way color correcting filter. don't adjust the colors (unless you want), but experiment with the low, mid, and high gamma sliders. A little goes a long way.
