I use Premiere 6.5. I was at a friend's house to work with her on a project...she uses Premiere Pro.

When she opened a project file, it started to conform the audio files...we had to wait forever to get started! Additionally, it created audio-related files that were almost as big as the DV files (okay, I may be exaggerating a bit there Big Grin).

She said, "That's so the video and audio will be in sync." But that didn't sound right to me, since my files are always in sync using 6.5.

Anyone know if she's doing something wrong, or does Premiere Pro always have to conform audio files right at the start? Do other editing programs do this as well?

If so, I don't have a lot of motivation to upgrade to Pro...
