I keep hearing and readin about matte's in FCP, but I haven't found any tutorials on how to do them good.

Anyone know of any good tutorials?

I'm new to FCP so im not sure. But my expierence with mattes and masks (if this is what you are talking about) is making a TIFF image and make an alpha channel for what you want to show up on screen. What kind of application of this were you looking for?

Just anything really. I don't know that much about it.
I started playing with masking as far as compositing images, but they have turned out pretty bad.
So, anything and everything you can tell me or direct me to would be great.

I see...here's a tutorial you could at least get going on. I would send you a copy of the pages in the manual but i dont think thats legal.
