My name is Stephen Merrill and I am a composer looking for projects. I understand, due to budget restrictions that there may be no pay. As of now I am willing to work for experience, credits, and networking means. I write mostly orchestral music, but have also done electronica, and other types as well. I try and be as flexible as possible to suit the needs of the film. Unfortunately, I use myspace as a temporary webpage right now. www.myspace.com/stafflinecompositions
If there are any questions you have feel free to email me at:

Your music is awesome! I wish I had a more epic or suspenseful movie that could use something like Kane's Revenge. Do you do any work with steel drums? If so, I might have something to send you to take a crack at (it will be edited in a few weeks).

Thankyou for the compliment. I am glad you liked it.....Well, the Kane's Revenge called for a darker, evil, sort of music and that is what I did for them, but if you would be so kind as to give me an example or a description of what type of music you are looking for, I would be more than happy to brainstorm a quick sketch and see if it is similar to what you are after in terms of musical elements. Now, you had mentioned steel drums.....I assume there would be a strong rythmic basis for what you may be after. I am always up for anything and would love to further our conversation to see if I might be able to meet your needs. What I will do today is place another song I am working on into the myspace profile and you will see the opposite of Kane's Revenge. This piece is more of a melodic and innocent melody. I just started it so it is short and sweet and the instrumentation is not complete, but the idea can be seen.
Thankyou for your response and I hope to hear from you again

Thankyou. I also listened to some of your music and enjoyed it as well. What equipment are you using. Is is live recording and if not what libraries are you using and notation program/sequencer. If you dont mind me asking. I am always looking for people who use similar software. It is nice to have questions answered and be able to answer others questions as well regarding the technical aspect of music software these days.
