I'm new and I'm a begginger at editing films, so let me get straight to the point:
All I have is windows movie maker and when I add songs to my movie from my mp3 cd, then when I try to transfer/save/burn my movie to a blank cd it says something about error because it couldnt find the direct file and stuff...
How do I solve this problem?

I'm also wondering if you know a nice editing program for begginers or is easy to use.. thanks to those who posted...

I think i see what you are saying - so you are linking to files on a cd? Then they arent available to the software when you put a blank cd in the drive, b/c obviously you took the cd out. did i get that right? Copy the mp3s to your hard drive, then link them from there into the project. You should do this anyway b/c the seek time off a cdrom is far slower than the HD, should make it much more manageable to edit. Anyway, doing that should eliminate the problem.

and also, sooner or later, stop using mp3's to edit.

How exactly did you copy it? There should be some way that doesn't make a reference to the original.

you have to re insert the music into the project again. If you leave the tracks in your project the way they were and copy the songs to the hard drive, the project file will still look for the files on your cd rom drive. Copy the files to your hard drive, delete the music tracks from the timeline, then re-insert the music to the timeline using the files that you copied to the hard drive. Should work Smile
