I'm not sure if I'm using the correct terminology, but I want to create a trailer of multiple videos on the screen. .. Something in the sense of NBC's American Dreams intro. I've done a lot with Pinnacle only to realize that it's limited. So, I've upgraded myself to Premiere. Besides the option of taking a dv editing class, is there another method of finding how such a video is created? books, tutorials??

Any help/info would be greatly appreciated!

Go to a big book store ( IE: Walden, Barnes & Noble, ect..) and buy a book on Adobe Premiere. It comes with a cd rom, with tutorials, ect. Very handy. I have one for Illustrator, and photo shop. Greta books. They are a bit pricey ( I think $30) but well worth it. Good luck.

isn't it as simple as slapping portions of the vids onto the timeline, adding music, then popping in transitions?

then you can clip vids, and do a split screen...it's all in the help...really..you just gotta know what to look for. I was thoroughly impressed with Premiere

video, music and transistions are a start. I use final cut pro which I think is better(but lets not get into that). However in either programs case a tutorial book helps. Sometimes the help menusinformation is limited when explaining some of the generators or filters. Anyone can slap music over something but using the 3-way color corrector effectivly in FCP is a little bit tougher
