Hello everyone. I recently got a film I made off a camera onto my computer. Although at one point when the two chracter are talking the you can hear the wind alot and can bearly hear what they're saying. In premiere using audio controls or the audio mixer is there any way I cant get rid of the wind?

Thanks.
Andrew

Might want to just do a voice-over for this situation. In the future, consider getting a microphone and put a wind-screen over it.

BTW...

There is something called a "CEDAR DNS2000 Dialog Noise Suppressor" but it'll cost you $6,525... I'm guessing that might be a bit out of your league. It's used for film/tv to reduce unwanted noise, trains, plains, wind, hiss, reverb etc.....

The best thing to do is get it right in the first place. But yes, typically a lot of your dialogue would be ADR... but I'm assuming you have no budget.

Yep, sounds like you need to apply the "reshoot" filter.

In addition to Jay's rec, other nifty plugins/programs, in decending order of how much I like them, not price:
Waves Restoration Bundle $2k-I think
Ionizer $500
Sound Soap $100
Ray Gun $100 -although I haven't tried the new OSX pro version.

Sound is sooo important. Crapy video can be a look (to a point). Crapy sound is crapy sound.

Its a stretch, but seeing that most of the wind noise is low frequency, experiment with EQing at least a little but of the wind out by cutting the low frequencys.

Nah, I wouldn't even waste my time trying to process your sound to remove wind ... it's virtually impossible.

My first ever film suffered from this problem and while I managed to get rid of most of the wind and background noise, it horribly distorted my dialogue.

To put it simply, it made something that sucked into something that REALLY sucked!
