Did the salesperson tell you that? Because it was a dirty lie if they did. The Gl-2 shoots 29.97 fps only.

email the reply? First time poster? A relatively obvious question?

I smell an email scam.

I believe the shutter speed goes as fast as 1/15,000th of a second. There's not a whole lot you can do to attain smoothe slo-mo. Up to 1/2 speed you may be able to turn each field into a frame resulting in minimal chop. You'll definitely want to shoot in normal mode as opposed to 'Movie Mode'. Skate videos probablly get a little leeway on choppiness. It should be a great camera for that type of stuff.

Good luck!

o.k. so how does brandon mccormick on this site get his slo-mo soo smooth?(In Blurry) is it because of the xL1 he's using?

if you've ever seen the cky videos filmed by bam margera... you'd understand why i'm so curious about this slo-mo stuff his skate sequences are shot on a sony mini-dv and it looks beautiful... i want to know how to attain the same effect. nice and slow no chopiness...

My apologies!

It has nothing to do with the camera. They slow the video down using their editor, like Premiere. Premiere has the ability to speed up and slow down clips on it's own, although if you do it a lot and need it to be super smooth (and are a baller from Pittsburgh like Bam), you might look into buying a third party plugin like RE:Vision Effects Twixtor. I've never used it myself, but I've heard from many people that it gives the best slo mo.

best luck

first you want to shoot at the highest shutter speed your lighting will allow for. you dont want motoin blur. then you can use something like after effects to do "frame blending" which does exactly that. blends the frames rather than doubleing them. there is also software like RealViz ReTimer which actually analyzes the pixels in each frame and uses vectors to morph a new frame, looks a little better than frame blending.
