Does anyone know what programs they use to do the opening sequences for viva la bam? I'd like to know how they got all those nice colours to blend so well... I'd especially like to know how they create those animated paint splatters i want to try and re-create that to make blood splatters for my indie film.(Is this done with flash?)

I've always thought about those opening credits. It's some really cool stuff.

They could have used a little After Effects, but I'm betting it was mostly high end software.

Either way, with enough work in Photoshop and After Effects, you could achieve the same effect.....It'll just take a lot longer.

Actually, believe it or not, that may change. Rumors floating around about the next version of flash (codenamed 8ball) will be available in three versions - 1: standard fair developer oriented flash 2: animation focused artisticly tilted version of flash and...supposedly...3: a version geared for video. Supposedly.

But then again, dont balk. if it wasnt for Macromedia we wouldnt have final cut. Apple bought it from them in 98, dont forget. Makes one wonder when macromedia will jump into that game again (unless it was written into sale of final cut that they wouldnt for a while or something).

personally, I'm not a big fan of Macromedia, we're so much better off that Apple is doing FCP. Its ironic because I spent over $1000 on Macromedia apps in the last year and for five years I've been developing a computer game on the Macromedia Director Platform. What I don't like about them is their incredibly stingy licensing policies and lack of obviously needed features.

I'm going to bet that Apple would have eventually created it's own video editor. I mean, without multimedia creation there isn't much reason in this day and age to purchase a Mac.
