I'm thinking of purchasing one for $200 but I've been seeing some bad reviews. Just want to know if anyone here has had any experience with it.

I have Premiere and After Effects so I am really just interested in the capture card.

Thanks in advance.

be careful what pinnacle card you buy. Half of them arent even compatible with premiere. The program isn't even all that great, its easy to use but for professional purposes it sucks. It's basically only good for home videos. Some pinnacle cards are ok, but I would buy something else if I were you.

do you own a miniDV camera? If so, get a ieee1394 (aka firewire card). It's lossless ... in the sense that it doesn't recompress the video comming from the camera.

You can find them for 20 bucks now. You can send me the other $180, okay? Wink

Thanks for the input. The consensus seems to be that this card is a piece of crap. Everyone that I talk to seems to say the same thing.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction? I need something that lets me capture analog video as well as digital.

Hmm... check out the ATI All-in-Wonder. Or however it is spelt. I don't know if it has Firewire, but I know it has analog.

Personally, I LOVE studio 8!I have the firewire card, and so far, so good! The program itself is very easy to use and if you get accustomed to the features, you can create some wonderful projects. But once you get it, go to pinnaclesys.com and get the patches to fix the glitches! Trust me, you will definately want to do this, i know from experience. This is a great tool for anyone to use!
