I enjoy making films, and spend most my time watching films or filming... I don’t really want to put my videos for everyone to see for free so started looking for ways to make money and I have come across this website that I believe will help me do this. Basically you upload a video, film, or documentary. Then either set a price to view it or allow it to be freely distribute it. Check out www.mytvbiz.com.
Please tell me if anybody has seen it or see going try it out!

Hot damn if only this would work! But unfortunately, or fortunately, if people have to pay to watch a short online, they won't watch it. Ad revenue still seems to be the only real model for online profit! But more power to ya, who knows maybe it will work, but my brain can't process a scenario where it will. Plus I wonder how they are dealing with clearence and copyright?

I agree. If you're going to charge people money to watch your movies, nobody will watch them. Mostly because they don't have a good enough reason to (mere curiosity usually isn't enough).

Once people know who you are and have a genuine reason to WANT to see your work, then you can start charging. Smile

Is that why I'm not receiving a fat check from studentfilms.com every two weeks? I just thought nobody was watching...

Kyle, Hollywood has a huge marketing and PR peice that a simple short online dosn't have. The commercial monster stirs up interest then people go and pay, thats what Harris was referring to. It has nothing to do with selling out its just people won't pay for a short (something they are used to getting for free online) if they don't have a genuine interest. In fact sometimes all Hollywood needs is a Marketing angle, Snakes on Plane anyone? And when was the last time any of us payed to see a short online?

It sucks but who cares just keep making movies, f*ck hollywood. (jk I love you Hollywood) no I don't! Suck my B%lls Hollywood, no I didn't mean that come back here Hollywood, so I can tear your face off, no no don't be afraid Hollywood its just been a hard day you know I love you, you slimy no-good backstabbing wh*re! I need more sleep.
