well, it's actually a pretty good editing system. It's cheap and you can do the basics.

Of course, edit the basic film (always good Wink)
Add in music, sound effects, titles, transitions, 3D transitions.

So it's definetely a good first editor.

Downsides, sometimes its a real ass hole and will freeze and force you to shorten clips...umm.....thats basically it I think.

It's a good first editor though, I would get it if I were you and needed an editor fast.

EXCEPT, he left the part out about how Pinnacle keeps systems from running properly... causing, in the long(or short---in this case)run, an assload of incessant CRASHINGS.

I suggest you read some of the reviews posted on Amazon.com before buying... Different people, different stories, same issue.

And I know. It happened to me...

Go the Adobe route... This is one highly satisfied customer!

All editing software will crash your system at some point - my friend uses Final Cut Pro 3 on his mac and it crashed almost every 15 minutes - like clockwork. You have to set the setting to use more RAM or something. I haven't been involved with the IT end of the editing systems in a long time. Smile Pinnical is great though. I got Version 8.0 from best buy for 20.00 Smile

"every 15 minutes - like clockwork."

i had that in fcp3..... a clean reinstall of the OS did the trick.... actually, it was five consecutive re-installs (not fun), but still Wink -

NLE's are one of the most demanding programs (along with 3d stuff, and human genome decoders), they will all crash more than normal programs.

Possibly there are just problems with their RAM. I used to have problems with both Pinnacle and Premiere, until I finally decided to do without Winamp, and other uneeded things and the like.

Pinnacle... I like more than Premiere. It's much easier to manipulate, and can do all the basics.

I personally, upload in Pinnacle. Edit in Premiere. Credits in the like with Pinnacle, and do special effects in Adobe. In that order. I don't care if it's long and complicated. lol
