How would you go about hooking a monitor up to your pc so you can get a video preview on there?

Well, there are couple things..
1. if you have analog Av line out in your PC then it shouldn't be a problem therefore, i assume that you don't have one...

I would say either use analog box that convert DV in/out to your PC with fire wire... then hook that into monitor..

But cheapest way is connect PC-Camcorder then use Av line out from Camcorder into Monitor...
this is what I used to view mine until I've got my cannopus...box..

What I've done is hooked up my camera (or deck) through Firewire (to get a video preview on that through whatever NLE I'm using) and then take the video output from the camera or deck to a monitor.
