Hey everyone, I have figured out a way to clone someone and it is really easy! (If no one knows this already of course) I've done this is FCP and photoshop but I'm sure you can do it in Primere and and I know you can do it in After Effects. This is all you do:
-You get a tripod (You must have a tripod or else its really hard)
- You film someone in one area of the shot.
- You film the same person in another area but keep the same shot of course.
- In post, on FCP, all you need to do is layer the two shots ontop of each other in the timeline. Then you take one of the clips and then crop it on which side you want it.
- That's all, you have a perfect clone right there.
That is the basics of it, but its gets more complicated. You usually wouldnt want just a straight edge crop, as that can create strange lines if your not carefull. I would instead recomended shaped layer masks (or garbage matts if using premiere). It also helps if you feather the edges of the masks bv about 5 pixels (any higher cand eat away your top layer, and less can show hard lines if the lighting is even a hair diferent.)Also, after that, you need to color balance each layer so that they match up and i also suggest feathering the edge of the top layer. As you edit, you should watch out for shadows. If they overlap, or cross the line, they will just cut out and look very out of place.
