i just rendered my short out of premiere and now ill need some effects in adobe after effects. so i imported the avi file and put the effects on it. i know nothing about aae but i rendered it to another avi file and now the sound is gone. what happened?

As far as I know, AE doesn't do sound. You have to add that back in Premier. That's what I always do anyway, so I could be wrong. But AE is really only for effects. You should go back into Premier to add your sounds, because Premier is so great in that area.

You should still have the audio track from Premier, if you had it in there first.

So basically, add any effects you need in After Effects, and then import the movie with all your effects into Premier. If you already edited and cut your movie when you spruced it up in After Effects, your audio track should still line up. Now you can add your sound effects in Premier.

you def. can do sound in AE... its in the render options. BELIEVE ME i thought the same thing a while back. Look in HELP.

^^Yeah it does sound, I looked it up. Come to think of it, I knew you could add it; I just never do. Premier is my dedicated editing/sound program. AE I rarely used for effects since Premier 6.5 is so good with muzzle flashes. I'm gonna get AE again now that there's a new version. The older one will be cheaper; but I'll probably get it free from a friend .
