so I filmed my footage using an HVX200 set in 1080i/24p, I'm using (2) 8gb P2 cards I mounted the cards and pulled the footage into FCP under the project setting HD1080i/60i, supposebly thats the setting I am supposed to use, however when I play the footage back it appears slow and a bit skippy.

I'm somewhat familiar with this camera, but not with that particular format setting. You might want to check the forums at creativecow.net, and search for some similar issues. They're geniuses over there.

Are you sure it was 24p and not 24pn or 24pa? There is a difference.

Also, make sure FCP knows it is 24 fps inside of a 29.97 clip.

What are your computer's specs(does it have the power to edit the 1080p footage in the first place?)? Are you running the footage of an external HD? Is it set to HDV 1080i or DVCPROHD 1080i?

I'm familiar with using P2 720p 23.98 on FCP, not with 1080.

This may sound stupid - but are your drives fast enogh to be able to play back the footage?

Other than that - hmmm. Do you need to run it through the framerate converter?
