So, here's the problem for today... audio rendering in Final Cut Express, though I'd presume that it's also going to be the exact same for the rich people with FCP, aswell.

What I am trying to accomplish is simple. Altering a fellow's voice... mine actually, but that's besides the point.

When I eventually render said file, you know... simply the preview render... Apple + R... and then play it back, it has a horrendus "beeping" noise.
Now, obviously FCE is attempting to tell me something, but I have no idea what. I checked the help files... but with a 1,000 page book... that could take hours. I decided to quickly ask here and see if anyone else has had this problem, and if they know how to correct it.

I'm going to sleep. It's 4: 30 am, and I drank heavily last night.

Thanks guys and gals.

The beeping means it's not rendered. Are you sure the rendering got the right section? Are the red bars gone above that area?

Select the clip and go to 'render selected' or whatever the similar option is called.

You also should convert it to 48 kHz if it isn't already.

Both kinda' right, but I did find out the exact problem, and it's really... very embarrasing.

I'd go "render both" (audio and video) because I had some still frames up there too. Well, I went to do it again, and realized that audio wasn't set for preview rendering. Wow.

I'm really angry I strayed away from editing for a full year there. Such simple and stupid mistakes...

Thanks though, guys.
