whenever i burn my movies to a dvd, the dvd skips everyone once and awhile. ive tried burning avi, mpeg and mpeg 2 but they all do it. im using premiere to edit and my friends burning it to dvd with the windows xp media center program. why do all our dvd's skip and have choppy secions?

have you tried it on different players? Does it always skip in more or less the same spot? I'm not familiar with your software, but some dvd players don't handle higher bitrate dvds that well. I try to not go above 7.5 mbs. Could that be the problem?

I agree - sounds like your DVD player is cheap and/or the bitrate is too high for that player to handle. On DV-originated stuff you really won't see much of a quality increase past 8 megabits/second.

im new to all this, where do i select the bit rate? when i put it on dvd or when i save it as an mpeg or avi? thanks for quick replys

can anyone help i need some dvd's of a wedding made tonight and dont want em skipping

I'd try a different burning program. Maybe just encode them to the DVD directly from primere.
