I don't knwo about you guys, but I'm really picky about my sound effects, and the stuff on the internet is crap (I've gone to www.a1freesoundeffects.com and www.findsounds.com, and numerous other small sites.)

I need good, matrixy, fight sounds. You know, the exaggeratted WHOOSH! and the extremely loud BAM! I've tried ripping them directly from the movies and games, but it always sounds distant when I record it with my camera.

Any suggestions would be great. Oh, and I need GOOD gun sounds.

A lot of people rip-off gun sounds from Half-Life and they work very well. I'd imagine any good fps to have a good library of gunshots. Everything else, get creative and be your own foley artist. I made my own sfx for this and it worked for what it was.

there are a FEW good ones here

and, i made my own "matrix woosh" with a samurai sword (any flat wood will do) and a USB mic. just make sure you swish your wrist AND your arm, to get the really loud woosh.

Yeah, speaking of Half Life, I've definately used their sound effects in a bunch of my movies, especially the "splat" of when you hit someone with a crowbar, and the "body explosion sound" when you hit a dead alien with a crowbar so many times that it explodes. Ha, great sound effects, makes me wonder how they actually made those....
