Ok, for anyone who knows about them. I have a mac g4 quicksilver addition. Right now it has a DVD player in it. I want to upgrade to a burner. Now I also have idvd in here that says i need a mac dvd-r superdrive to be able to access the program. Would this be any dvd burner or are they looking for a specific one? Also is there any reason I should make my new burner external and keep my dvd player in there? For any type of copying reasons? Like if I wanted to create multiple copies of my movei that would be the way to go right? Also dvd burners with firewire...can that be used to import into the comp through firewire or would i have to get a card to do that(transfer dv into my comp) which would you guys recommend? Thanks
Give me a dollar I'll give you a film!

Unfortunately, what Apple means by superdrive are the ones that come built in to a new Apple computer. You can't upgrade to one either, it's just the way it is. However, you can indeed buy an external FireWire drive, but you can't use iDVD because it can only be used with, you guessed it, Apple's superdrive.
Your only optionis to buy the external drive and a copy of Apple's DVD Studio Pro which will work just fine on external DVD burners.
Hope that helps you out-
G.
