I loved the look, but it was distinctly different from film. I think what you're referring to, Darko, is probably the fact that it was shot LIKE film. Lit well, shallow depth-of-field, deep colors. A lot of things can be done to make DV look better, both during and after shooting. Light it well, or use good natural light. Zoom in from far away to get a better DOF with blurry backgrounds.
