I have an olllllld version of Magix Movie Edit Pro from a few years ago when I didn't know right form left about movie editing. It works fine I guess, but it's very basic. -_-
What are the best programs for editing and effects and all that? Premiere Pro? After Effects? Avid?
Let me know! Thanks!
PS. This is my new name on here. I haven't been on this site in a while, I'm not sure why. I guess I've been busy. I used to be EricProductions and SkippingStoneArts, but I forgot all of those passwords. :P

Premiere Pro is pretty amazing. Many people will tell you Final Cut or Avid over Premiere, but I personally (and it is a personal preference) adore Adobe products. You said effects, so After Effects is the way to go. I don't think anyone would steer you away from After Effects. If they tried, just tell them they're mad.
I got the Adobe Video Collection a few years ago with Student Discount for 435 dollars. It had:
Premiere Pro 1.5 After Effects 6.5 Audition Encore 1.5
Cheya!

It's a little more expensive now, but it has a lot more programs... ones I wouldn't really use. Check the rest of the site itself out and just buy them independently, they'll be as cheap as you can get.
Good lucksters.
