Turned the camera off and didnt realise the light had changed - any idea how I can correct it?

It would be simple in the color corrector in your editing program.

I have access to Adobe after effects and premiere pro - tints work but they effect the whol picture, dont really want to change the dark colours such as there suites.

Usually a color corrector has the ability to define shadows and highlights. In this case you would only modify the highlights and midtones.

sorry for the double post but i've found the tools however, new problam. Wen applied they degrade the quality of the video.

I have tried exporting in both uncompressed and dv/avi but both lok the same -any suggestions?

Because of DV's 4:1:1 color/luminance ratio and whatnot, any extreme color correction will cause blockiness. It's the nature of the beast, I suppose.
