No, I'm sorry to say you can't. FCP requires apple specific OS instruction sets and hardware and the chances of it ever being ported (despite frequent rumors) are slim. Sorry. By the way, please don't post your question in three topics, its confusing and we all read it all anyway. yea me too, from my understanding they built the engine, some core tech and some other stuff and apple bought it pretty early on, so there is probably some core stuff left that macromedia developed but it is undoubtedly almost completely apple code at this point. I am a big fan of macromedia making an NLE mostly for their interfaces - i love the MX interfaces. Very intuitive. And if they ever did, you'd better believe that flash for video would really be taken to the next level, and may even spin off into a compositing program. That could spell a change in the way video for the web is implemented. They've already created their own video format (FLV) so it could be a logical step. Who knows what they'll do. Interesting thing about that is i think it is based on the quicktime codec, which i know is definitely one of the things they were working on with apple back in QT4. This was part of the FCP beginnings. So codecs are definitely up their alley. Makes you wonder why they go to Sorenson for codecs when they used to do that stuff in house? Anyone know any more about this topic? Chris? Joren?
