All it means is that there is a major update to Xpress DV coming.

The big deal is that Xpress DV is no longer limited to only DV footage now. It looks like it will be able to capture up to Uncompressed 601 which is high quality DigiBeta (broadcast) footage.

The other big thing is that it looks like this release will allow real time fx (ie no rendering) not only in the computer monitor as it is now in Xpress but also on your external NTSC monitor.

That is huge as well. My guess is that there still will be a DV version of Xpress but that it will be scalable up to the high end.

It looks great. We'll all know more on Monday.

Ouch! I've recently bought a Al 12" Powerbook too!

I wonder how much that'll put me in debt?
